David has worked in the affordable housing industry for over ten years full-time but has been a part of the family business on and off since he was 16. David started as a laborer in construction and has worked at each level of the business. When he left Champlain College in 2013, he began working full-time as a regional manager with Two Plus Four Management. After three years, David began to work primarily in a Real Estate development role, working on financial modeling and handling application preparation under the president's watch, Susan Kimmel. In 2018, David joined the business as an owner, becoming the third generation of Bacon/Kimmel to run Two Plus Four. In addition, this was when David began to produce applications more independently and manage a transition in client relation management and business management software for the company. David serves as the current face of the business in the broader public. He continues to handle his Real Estate Development duties and meetings with tenants, elected officials, and the public regarding the properties.
David’s educational background is primarily in finance and project management, with David having over 12 years of project management experience, from schooling to his career in video game production as well as affordable housing development. He is trained in Agile/Scrum project management styles and is versed in project management software. This unique blend of experience gives him the breadth of knowledge to be innovative in the Affordable Housing world concerning technology and a holistic approach to project management.
David is a licensed Real Estate broker with a Bachelor of Professional Studies from Syracuse University’s University College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Whitman School at Syracuse University. In addition to his degrees, David holds his C3P, STAR, and Microsoft Word certifications.
